21 Homeless Folks Served

The guys from the HELP Transitional houses are full of energy today. We served 21 homeless folks snacks and bags full of bottle water and gatorade downtown and at the library in Hampton.

H.E.L.P. Mobile Cooling Unit serves 67 Homeless

Thank you HELP Clergy Advisory Board members Pastor Steve Edwards (Street Church) and his wife Denise volunteered; also Pastor Jim Moynihan (One Church) for stepping in this weekend to operate HELP’s Mobile Cooling unit to provide water, gatorade and snacks to the homeless and to those exhibiting distress from the excessive beat. They served 67 folks on Saturday and Sunday (7-8 Jul). “Do you take after your Father”.

Bookmobile Becomes HELPMobile

HelpmobileThe Hampton Book Mobile will be used as the HELPMobile for 2012 and will be driven throughout the city during times of excessive heat and cold. Residents who need respite from the temperatures will be allowed to relax on board for short periods. Thank you City of Hampton for providing a recreational vehicle once used to haul Hampton’s books to under served areas is now being used to shelter the city’s homeless population from the extreme heat and cold.

Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings and Provisions had a Mobile Cooling Center out in Hampton. 33 people assisted.

2nd Day of Extreme Heat

Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings and Provisions opened a Cooling Center at 11 am – 4 pm at Hampton Baptist Church for the 2nd Day this week of Extreme Heat.
