Serving Those In Need Since 1982

Where Does Your Donation Go?

Your donations contribute to our work toward accomplishing our mission here in Hampton: We are a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to mobilizing the community to empower homeless individuals, families, and those in need to strive for self-sufficiency.

Our programs focus on three key areas of support:

Housing & Homelessness--Your donation helps homeless families, single moms, and individuals get off the street and into our programs that help them become housed and have the support systems in place and the income necessary to support themselves. Our Emergency Shelter for Women and Children costs over $30,000 annually to operate.

Healthcare for the Low-Income Uninsured--Your support allows us to provide medical and dental care to those who can't afford insurance. In 2016, HELP provided over $400,000 in direct care and connected patients to over $500,000 in specialist care and surgery. Patient copays only make up about 5% of all revenues for the clinic.

Support Services for Those in Crisis--Some people may not fit into either of the first two categories, but still need a hand up. HELP provides financial assistance for utilities and rent when possible, showers and laundry, access to the internet, a place to receive mail, and assistance with finding the resources in this community. In the past 12 months, HELP has provided over $10,000 in Financial Assistance to those in need.
